Happy New Now divine beings!

I hope you are all well and have kicked off 2021 with spirit as we further navigate these peculiar, yet exciting times..

As for me, I took a long overdue hiatus from social media and a much needed break from my small blissness to enjoy the healing rays of Raumati/summer with my whanau/family, getting in some much needed adventure, spontaneous being and lots of nourishing soulitude in Mama Nurture's loving embrace!

2020-2021 Clearing Mindscapes

Many, perceived 2020 as a hellish nightmare. It was uncomfortable, disruptive, disorientating and disheartening. It shook us all in different ways and affected us on many different levels of being. There is no denying the immense and much needed 'shake up' that humanity is experiencing. All our karmic bonds and wounds hiding in the psyche are being raised to the surface to be exposed to the light. However, for those who are and have been aware for many, many years, 2020 was merely an indication or a signpost so to speak, of what's to come. In particular, is the collective clearing, deconstructing and re-attuning of the mental and psychological landscape, which includes deconstructing and dismantling our thinking processes, perceptions and beliefs. Removing the veil from our eyes.

The Age of Aquarius

For those who don't know, We have fully entered the Age of Aquarius and this is a BIG deal! Although the sign of Aquarius is an air sign, it is also associated with water. The element of air has a Yang/masculine energy by nature that represents the mental landscape and water is yin/feminine energy and represents the emotional. However, unlike water signs who tend to lean more toward the emotional-logical, which means they are often directed and governed by their emotions, Aquarius is logical-emotional and that means they rarely allow their emotions to override their rational thinking. In fact, many Aquarian people come across as emotionally detached and cold, but in reality they are focused on the bigger picture of life.

The planets governing Aquarius are Uranus and Saturn. To keep this real simple, Uranus represents original and revolutionary thinking and also re-imagining how we want our lives and this world to be. Saturn is concerned with fears and limitations that restrict these changes from happening

If we put it all together, the Age of Aquarius represents the dawning of a new revolution of consciousness for humanity, based on freedom, higher vision, unity and emancipation from all the fear based illusions that are keeping us trapped in limited and blinded states of being...

I was advised through a dream in 2019, that this is the dawning of Te Ao Nukutere-the swift turning of the world as we know it..it is a time for all of Earth's Children and Warriors to rise up and be tuuturu/upstanding in the plight and fight to liberate and help rebirth the New Earth into all her glory, beauty and magnificence...

For me, the last six moonths or so have been truly involutionary; a time of retreat, introspection and reconnection to my own frequency, inner-wisdom and power. I have reset myself and my blissness! You see friends, now is the time to remember that we are the Keepers of Source frequency and frequency vibrates through the light of consciousness.

Light is information; love is creation. You must become informed before you can create.

In the Spirit of Ngahuru/Autumn!

I chose one of the most productive, inspiring and motivating times of the year (for me personally) to reignite my creative spark and also make my re-entry back into the social media realm, with a little bit more focus and intention this time around. Autumn, Fall or Ngahuru is also one of my favourite seasons of the year. The colours, aromas and textures are truly intoxicating!

Ngahuru in Maaori means hairs, fur, feathers or in this instance it means the coverings of nature, which represents the falling of the leaves, which creates a korowai/cloak for Mama nurture.

Ngahuru represents a time of slowing down physically and awakening spiritually as the sun's nourishing and vitalising rays diminish, it is time to turn inward and stoke the inner-fires of our being, which means nourishing our soul. This is also a good time to release old stagnant energies that have accumulated as this is a time of shedding and letting all that no longer serves us go! Maybe get in some healing rituals as well.

It is a very powerful time for connecting and communicating with our ancestors and spirit family as the veil begins to thin, it's a potent opportunity to work with them to heal any ancestral trauma trapped within our DNA. By healing ourselves, we heal our ancestral bloodlines!

Also, tuning into our dreamscapes and asking for wisdom and guidance on our path is favoured around this time, as we become less active and more restful, we become more receptive to the realm of our spiritual wisdom.

For Maaori, the year is drawing to a close and it is a time to honour, celebrate and give thanks for all of our inner and outer harvests and goals that have come into fruition. Autumn is also a great time for home activities such as preserving and fermenting our summer harvests, eating and cooking nourishing soul food, being creative and catching up on some reading, writing or hobbies.

Environmentally, Autumn is a time of fluctuating elements and energy, hot and cold, dry and wet. This can cause our body to feel more tired than usual and our joints achy.

Rather than doing vigorous exercise, such as lifting weights, hiit workouts or running, which impact the joints, I like to attune my body to the natural rhythm of the season and incorporate more stretching, yoga, pilates, qi gong and massage, which can all be adjusted to different levels if I am wanting to incorporate some strength in there as well.

Note: I will leave links at the end of this post to some of my favourite home workout channels on youtube!

The foods I consume also align with the changing climate. I will incorporate more heat into my body to adjust to colder temperatures. This can be accomplished by adding more spices, soups and broths to my diet as well as slow releasing energy foods such as kumara, pumpkin, oats, quinoa and legumes

It is so important for our health and vitality to eat in harmony with the seasons and also consume foods that are grown locally, just like our ancestors did. Why? well for one, foods from the supermarket that aren't grown in season are not fresh. They've either been refrigerated and stored when they are under-ripe (which diminishes their nutritional value) or they have been imported from other countries and have most likely been sprayed with chemicals and lost their vitality.

In order to reap the healing properties of food and not just eat for the sake of eating, we must become aware of how much vitality and nutritional value is in the foods we consume. A high vibrational diet oes hand in hand with bio-energetic nutrition. Eating 'dead' food causes more stress and imbalances, which is detrimental to our health.

One of the main reasons that seasonal eating is good for our wholistic health, is that it connects us to the great mother Papatuuaanuku. She provides all the right foods, veges, fruit and plant medicine that we need to thrive in any season, so get out there and get your forage on!

For autumn that looks like a variety of mushrooms, which is one of the few food sources that provide us with Vitamin D, (which we need during the colder months). However, they must be grown in the sun and not indoors to reap the best benefits, so look in fields and forests. Mushrooms are also known to cleanse and protect our body from free-radicals and radiation.

We may also like to add more vitamin K to our diet to thicken our blood so that our body is kept warm as our metabolism uses more energy to adjust to the colder conditions. So, we will find that our appetite goes up a notch, and that we need to fuel up on natural and bioenergetic foods. Natural foods that Mother nurture provides around this time, which are loaded with vitamin K include:

  • Kale, spinach, broccoli, silverbeet, collard greens, watercress, puha

Other natural foods available around this time include:

  • Carrots, beetroots, pumpkins, squash, courgettes, kumara, potatoes, feijoas, apples, kiwifruit, plums, pears, persimmons, grapes, walnuts, chestnuts

Wild herbs and medicinal foods include:

  • Dandelion roots, burdock roots, hawthorn berries, rosehips, elderberries, dock seeds, juniper berries, mullein, chickweed, violet, pansies, plantain, yarrow

There is so much on offer to keep us healthy and prepped for winter! Be intentional and conscious in your food choices. Health is wealth!

What's in Store for Waioraflows:

I needed to reassess how I wanted to DO business. Our offerings and services are an extension of ourselves and we can't disconnect, fragment and separate our being from what we do. So much of the western world is built upon separation and putting ourselves in boxes. Most of us do this everyday without realizing it. But as a multidimensional being, this is just something I can't and won't do. Narrowing and restricting myself to fit into and tick someone else's box is not realistic or aligned with how I want to do MY business.

My new instagram handle is waioraflows_rebirthed and I am doing things differently this time around!

My vision and intentions for waioraflows has always been an extension of my passion and love for Mother Earth. I've realised that this blissness is a part of me, it goes through cycles just as I do. There are times of growth, when I'm inspired to create and other times when I need to rest and tend to my inner-self.

Essentially, waioraflows is a product of the joy and bliss I feel when I am in my creative flow. I incorporate my love for writing, photography, envisioning ideas and working with the treasures that nature offers us! I also feel a intrinsic responsibility to raise awareness around the symbiotic ties that we have to this planet and to help people reconnect to her. So, for me this is more than just marketing and selling my products, this is about connection and extending what I see and feel from this Earth.

With winter around the corner, I'll be formulating elixirs, tinctures and tonics to help boost the immune-system. I'll also be branching out into the magickal world of medicinal mushrooms and creating some body warming and delicious tasting brews. Bath salts and Milky clay soaks are always a hit during the colder months. Warming massage oils and face serums made with organic and nourishing oils to keep skin protected from the harsh elements. I'll also be exploring my love for Feng shui and creating some special ritual kits for cleansing and clearing space. I'm contemplating products for post-natal self-care as well and of course my popular vapour rub Haa-Ora will be back along with some winter wellness bundles!

Lots happening for Waioraflows this season! So stay tuned and thank you for your presence!
